| ![]() Early Learning Coalition to Host Book Collections at Southwest Florida Barnes & Noble LocationsThe Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida has partnered with the Barnes & Noble Booksellers of Fort Myers, Naples and Estero to collect books for ELC’s Literacy Buddies Program.
By: Samantha Scott The morning of the event will consist of musical entertainment from local schools. Featured cartoonist, Doug MacGregor will be at the Fort Myers location from 11 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Children are encouraged to dress up as their favorite book characters. There will be a costume parade from 11:45 a.m. until noon. There will also be a pizza party from noon until 1 p.m. Community helpers such as the fire department, sheriff department, and post office employees are expected to join the festivities at 1 p.m. Face painting, clowns and art projects will be going on all day. The Fort Myers Barnes & Noble Booksellers will also be participating in the Book Drive with hopes of collecting as many books as possible from November 1st until December 31st. All books will be given to a variety of ELC programs including Literacy Buddies. Barnes & Noble has a suggested list of books for purchase and donation.
