Vecna customer site receives Innovation Award for QC Kiosk™ implementation

Aug. 29, 2011 - PRLog -- COLUMBUS, OH — The Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center of Columbus, OH was recognized with an Excellence in Government Award from the Federal Executive Association (FEA) of Columbus and Central Ohio. The Innovation Award for category Distinct team within a large agency was presented to Gerry Showecker, Andy Weibel, Kris Kirchoff, and Kari Mularcik for their work implementing Vecna's QC Kiosk units within the ambulatory care center.

Together with Vecna, the Columbus VA implemented a patient self-service system with the goal of improving clinical performance measures. Additionally, the Columbus team worked closely with the Vecna engineers to develop a health report card and wellness reminders printouts for patients. "The Innovation Team at Columbus VA had a vision when they implemented our kiosks," said Will Locke, Patient Self-Service Product Manager at Vecna. "They streamlined their clinic's established process for better efficiency while also improving patient satisfaction. We are thrilled that the FEA has recognized the Columbus VA's work."

The FEA recognizes individuals and teams in categories such as quality and process improvement. The Excellence in Government Award has been presented to outstanding federal employees for 34 years.
