Britain’s fastest growing Home, Garden & Leisure Superstore coming to Burton upon Trent

Aug. 25, 2011 - PRLog -- The new Burton upon Trent store is one of many new stores which are set to open before the end of 2011. The large superstore is set to open on Friday 28th October 2011 taking the total number of Range outlets to 56 across the UK, the eighth store this year.

The ex MFI site will become the new store for The Range which has been completely refurbished and also features a 15 000 square foot mezzanine floor.

The Range is owned and run by Plymouth-based entrepreneur Chris Dawson and is recognised for offering more than 65,000 quality products across 16 departments including; DIY, homewares, furniture, lighting, arts & crafts and garden, all at affordable prices.

Chris Dawson, owner and founder of The Range, commented: “"Opening a brand new store in such a vibrant location as Burton upon Trent is an exciting prospect for The Range. Our plans for the store opening are shaping up well, and we are excited to be joining the community here."

As well as bringing The Range to Burton upon Trent; the venture will also create 150 part and full-time jobs, from store and department managers to warehouse and admin staff with local people already applying for these positions.

Chris closed by adding: “We are thrilled to be creating 150 new jobs for local people as well as building a skilled and enthusiastic team who will make shopping at the store a unique and enjoyable experience for our customers. I would like to thank the JobCentre for continuing to aid us with the recruitment for this store and I would also like to thank the council for welcoming us to the area.”

Thanks to its competitive prices, The Range has thrived during the past few years while some of its famous retail rivals have struggled. Nearly all of The Range’s new stores are in spaces left vacant by victims of the recession, notably MFI and Woolworths - while many ex-MFI and Woolworth’s staff have returned to their old workplace as an employee of The Range.
