Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County Presents Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Concert

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will perform Friday, September 30, 2011 in the Fred Kavli theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza with proceeds benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County.
 
Aug. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- CAMARILLO, CALIF.--Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will perform Friday, September 30, 2011 in the Fred Kavli theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza with proceeds benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County. Featuring classics from its latest album, How Big Can You Get? A Tribute to Cab Calloway, “America’s favorite little big band” is sure to get the audience dancing. The event also features local favorites Amanda Ply and Teardrop Garage.  

   “It will be a wonderfully entertaining and fun evening of great music. The band has evolved into one of the top leaders among jazz and swing bands in the world,” says Jeff Rudin, Big Brothers Big Sisters board member and concert chairperson. "I also hope the evening increases awareness that many children throughout Ventura County are in urgent need of mentoring."

   A silent auction will take place during the evening. "We have collected some spectacular auction items, true treasures that our guests will certainly enjoy,” says Rudin.  
   All proceeds from the concert and auction will support existing child-mentor matches and will enable the development of new matches for children waiting for their perfect "Big." Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County is committed to helping children facing adversity to reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one adult mentoring relationships.
