Aug. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- Schools across France will now be able to transport, store and charge their laptop and netbook computers thanks to an exclusive distribution deal signed by Monarch Education Furniture.

LapCabby, the innovative storage and charging unit which is already helping schools across Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East, will now be sold to schools in France by Opticmedia, one of the country’s leading IT distributors.

Since being launched in 2003, more than 11,000 LapCabbys have been sold to schools throughout the UK.

Earlier this year, Monarch launched the latest model of the product, the LapCabby Up-Link which features a Wi-Fi access point that enables the unit to be plugged into a school’s local area network (LAN). This range also features a gigabit switch allowing the laptops to remain connected to the LAN even while charging, enabling schools to update software or data on their computers overnight.

Andy Harrhy, managing director at Monarch Education Furniture, said: “We are extremely excited to be working with Euro Media who are leaders in their field with strong links to schools throughout France.

“Opticmedia first approached us back in January at the BETT education show where we were launching the LapCabby Up-Link.

“They were extremely impressed with the quality of the product and its price, so much so, they will now be selling all 21 models as well as a bespoke model, the LapCabby Beam 15V which is an all-in-one IT cart which housing a printer and projector as well as laptop computers.”

Didier Belet, sales manager at Opticmedia said: “We had been looking for a laptop storage and charging unit for some time which was both well designed and cost effective.

“LapCabby more than exceeded this criteria and to have a bespoke model created specifically to address the needs of the French market has been excellent.”

LapCabby is the most cost effective laptop and netbook storage and charging product on the market, housing between ten and 32 laptops or netbooks in each unit.
Its excellent cable management and power system is housed in a separate compartment to keep it well away from children, providing a level of safety beyond that of other products in the market.
Other innovative features include a Green power management system, an effective dual point locking system and striking ergonomic handles and rubber corner bumpers that protect the unit, the classroom and the laptops.
