Triad Wine and Design to Support Family Service of the Piedmont with Fundraiser on August 23rd

Aug. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- JAMESTOWN, NC – Wine and Design Triad will be partnering with Family Service of the Piedmont to host a fundraiser at the painting studio’s location at 121 East Main Street in Jamestown.  The two-hour event will be held on Tuesday, August 23rd at 6:30pm at a cost of $45 per person.  

Family Service is the largest private, nonprofit agency of its kind in Guilford County, NC. The agency empowers individuals and families in crisis to restore hope, achieve stability and thrive through quality support services, advocacy and education.  Agency programs include Domestic Violence Shelters, Children's Advocacy Centers, Individual and Family Counseling, Free Consumer Credit Counseling, In-Home Therapy and Support for new mothers with heightened stress factors; and Family Preservation intervention.  Family Service Marketing and Development Officer, Jody Susong, says Wine and Design’s owner Jenny Ragsdale and Ragsdale’s husband George, have been gracious supporters of the agency.  

“When Jenny started the business, she immediately said that she wanted to do a fundraiser for Family Service,” says Susong.  “Fundraisers, like the one that we’ll be doing at Wine and Design, are extremely important to Family Service.  They help to fund services for people in Guilford County who cannot afford to pay and are in desperate need. I’m so excited about our upcoming fundraiser and am so appreciative to Jenny and Wine and Design for their support of Family Service.”

Wine and Design opened its doors in Jamestown in May of this year as the first franchise operation of Raleigh’s popular and first wine and painting party concept.  The original Wine and Design opened over a year ago with the promise of providing “memories and a masterpiece in just two hours”.  The Jamestown studio targets prospective customers in High Point, Winston-Salem, Burlington, and Greensboro.

Wine and Design provides the canvas, cover-up, paints, paintbrushes, and corkscrew and attendees provide a beverage of his or her choosing.  First-time painters, aspiring artists, or self-proclaimed pro’s browse the studio’s website to find a painting they would like to replicate.  Sessions are led by local artists that guide participants through a carefully-orchestrated, step-by-step process that promises a finished “masterpiece” at the end of the two-hour session.  Ragsdale says that the event on August 23rd is the first fundraising event for the studio and she hopes that many people sign up, sip up, and support a very worthwhile cause.

“People in our own backyard are hurting and this is such a wonderful way to not only do something positive for your community, but also something nice for yourself at the same time,” says Ragsdale.  “I’m so happy to be able to host this event for Jody and Family Service.  It’s a cause that’s near and dear to me, and I hope that our event will raise much needed money and attention to this wonderful agency.”
