By: Joe Montoya n the opinion of Maria Yraceburu, everyone came into this world with a destiny. She also believes in the active engagement of life as a whole life wellness of body, mind, planet and spirit – and admits it takes effort. Yraceburu, a 57-year-old Apache, herself has been challenged with body reactions to earth changes, a result of being struck by lighting, an ever mutating experience. As a young woman, she suffered bouts of extreme anger over situations within humanity's contemporary lifestyles. She credits her grandfather's teachings for keeping her life ever returning to the path her ancestors left for her to follow. Today, she looks at all of it as a blessing. Yraceburu refers to herself as a earth-spirit scout, in a similar fashion to the Apache scouts of old…. reading signs, giving guidance. She is also an author, a ceremonialist, an author, an emissary for Indigenous Elders, and a grandmother who travels nationwide helping communities establish a life action philosophy that includes Earth and Spirit in all equations. She has been life partner to Lynd for more than 16 years, and is mother to two sons, and one daughter, grandmother to three, and "shima… or Aunty" to countless others. As a lineage keeper, Yraceburu is responsible for sharing information relevant to humanity's evolution in graceful passage, from beginning to ending. Many times her events include prayers and chants and ceremony, including the use of Fire Ceremony, storytelling, family meals and Talking Circles. Many, part of the Yraceburu Extended Family and Elders, refer to Maria as a Dreamer. On September 24th, Yraceburu will facilitate a Circle of Information for the Fall Equinox: Shedding Light on what we have to do, and look forward to, as the impending World Transition moves ever closer. Yraceburu has been the recipient of the Presidential Humanitarian Award twice in her lifetime, and always considers herself an advocate of Earth-Human Resonance.
