Aug. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Internationally acclaimed coloratura soprano Elizabeth Futral drops in on Patrick D. McCoy, The African American Voice in Classical Music from New Zealand to discuss her career and future plans.  Ms. Futral is particularly a favorite with audiences with Washington, D. C. audiences being heard in principal roles and performances with J. Reilly Lewis and the Washington Bach Consort, Washington Concert Opera, Cathedral Choral Society and Vocal Arts DC . Elizabeth Futral has established herself as one of the major coloratura sopranos in the world today. She has embraced a diverse repertoire that includes Vivaldi, Händel, Mozart, Bellini, Donizetti, Rossini, Verdi, Glass, and Previn.

Revisiting the role of Nedda in I Pagliacci, Ms. Futral will make her debut with New Zealand Opera in August and September of 2011. In November, 2011, she will reprise the role of Violetta in La Traviata for Lyric Opera Baltimore's first season with her husband Steven White conducting. Futral may be heard at Carnegie Hall November 30 and December 1, 2011 as she performs music of Kaija Saariaho with the Avanti Chamber Group. The Performing Arts Society Acadiana presents Ms. Futral in recital in Lafayette, LA in January after which she will sing her first Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte for Washington National Opera.
