Angelica Jackson: A Current Member of the Virginia State University Concert Choir has been selected for prestigious choir in Sydney, Australia

PETERSBURG, Va. - May 2, 2023 - PRLog -- Angelica Jackson, a current student at Virginia State University and a member of the Virginia State University Concert Choir currently led by Interim Director of Choral Activities Patrick D. McCoy has been selected for the Honors Performance Series presented by the World Strides Organization.  She is scheduled to travel to Sydney, Australia for this opportunity to perform at the Sydney Opera House with other selected performers. The Honors Performance Series brings together exceptional student performers from around the world. Selected performers have the opportunity to study under master conductors, work with other elite musicians, and perform at the Sydney Opera House. As a part of the program, she will spend several days together in Sydney, Australia. Here are some of the exciting activities that are planned:

• Perform in the exclusive Honors Performance at the Sydney Opera House on August 4, 2023, under the direction of world-renowned conductors
• Work with master conductors and build a performing resume
• Experience cultural highlights, see famous sites, and experience the excitement of Sydney, Australia.
• Rehearse and interact with performers from across the world

To prepare for participation in this amazing experience, Angelica has been putting in countless hours of practice. "I am extremely proud of Angelica. She certainly is serious about her music and this would be something that she will treasure for a lifetime" Professor McCoy stated.
