Aug. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Premier is pleased to announce the launch of it’s new qualification, titled the Certificate in Exercise and Nutritional Interventions for Obesity and Diabetes. This qualification has recently received accreditation by Ofqual and SkillsActive.

The Level 4 qualification, due to be launched this September, covers three key areas of interest. The first module investigates the current state of the nation looking at trends and statistics as well as existing treatment services through the NHS.

The second element exposes the myths and truths surrounding obesity and diabetes. The final module looks at innovative and scientifically supported strategies to manage obesity and diabetes through exercise and nutrition. It is vital for people who suffer from obesity and diabetes, that a personalised approach is applied to restoring their health and that efforts are made to inform others on how best to prevent it occurring.

A recent Lancet study revealed that more than 350 million people across the globe now have diabetes. The report adds several tens of millions to the previous estimate of the number of diabetics and indicates that the disease has become a major global health problem.
