Stardusted in Carlsbad Celebrating Diversity and The Magic of Art

Aug. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- This is the second year for The Stardust Arts to present a Kids Activity Booth.  Sponsored in part by the Carlsbad Village Association, and this year a very special sponsor Homelife Village Realtors provided Free to the public activities for everyone to enjoy and participate in.  Parents, youth and children’s all had a great time creating fun art, hats, 3-D art and masks in celebrate of the days events.  

Crowds congregated and it was buzzing with over 832 children passing through the booth by the evenings end.  All walking away with not only an art project created personally by themselves, but the satisfaction of creating something that expressed themselves. Adults were elated about the opportunity it provided and conversed with Cheryl Ehlers about visual arts and the importance of art to their children.  

“Art is a universal form of communication that spans the development and creativity of a child’s minds”, stated Cheryl Ehlers, founder and artist of The Stardust Arts. Now a days so much of the arts are eliminated in the schools lacking funding to provide the opportunities for children to learn to explore their own capabilities.  Art is an expression of thought and processing and needs to be developed providing a joyful inner happiness, something very necessary in the further development of a student’s academic success to a well rounded education, she said.

The Stardust Arts program is a CA State Assembly recognized and San Diego County Board of Supervisors approved program.  Recognition for the achievements it brings to the community makes The Stardust Arts an elite visual art program that no other programs have matched momentum to date.  Teaching visual fine art to over 3190 students in the last two years and continually obtaining sponsorships for underserved children to be able to participate in the program is an ongoing goal for the program.  Paramount to the success achieved is the one simple goal the program has always focused on.  “If only one student is touched by art and maintains the ambition to further their education, then the program has been a success”.  There is no doubt that the goals of The Stardust Arts have been met many times over and will continue.

The Art in the Village is an annual event sponsored by the Carlsbad Village Association and hosts 150 vendors displaying a numerous variety of art on display and for sale. Every year approximately 20,000 people attend the event and jurying in new artists into next year has already beginning.
