It is a travel show created to leave the consumers craving to take their ultimate 'break away moments' in both the Caribbean and locally in Florida. Providing a show and tell of places to go, places to see and things to do especially when visiting the Caribbean and tropical Florida, is what the travel and tourism show will be all about. The 'Peek At Paradise' travel show will also have a strong emphasis on promoting the Caribbean as a wedding and honeymoon destination where consumers will be able to meet with several hoteliers and affiliated destination wedding event planners and vendors. The show will bring together the leading travel and tourism industry professionals, a variety of vendor interests and tourism boards to present the Caribbean and Florida to consumers.

Capturing the essence of fun in the sun and bringing the Caribbean for a day to potential travelers, the 'Peek At Paradise' travel show will celebrate the concept of memorable tropical getaways and the tremendous range of options and diversity in accommodations for any wonderful couple, family vacation, wedding or honeymoon retreat experience. Many island and local hotels, resorts, villas and vendors will be offering a variety of special packages and deals, many of which are designed just for couples, fun groups and families.

There will be steel band music emanating in the atmosphere, lots of exhibitors sharing information about the specialness of their resorts, hotels, attractions and what they have to offer their visitors, along with other general tourism and travel related interests which will be on location to exhilarate the consumers' minds with the possibilities for their next vacation or getaway. The first 250 event attendees will receive a Break Away Moments travel bag and beach towel.
Celebrity Chef Nigel Spence has been confirmed to make a Special Guest Appearance and will give a brief talk about Jamaica's culinary heritage at the 'Peek At Paradise' travel show. As part of the Culinary Institute of America’s intense and exclusive training program, Nigel interned at the Television Food Network. After graduating in 1997, Nigel was asked to stay on at the network which he did for approximately 3 years. TVFN afforded Nigel the opportunity to work with culinary luminaries such as Mario Batali, Bobby Flay and Emeril Lagasse. Most recently, Chef Spence appeared on Throwdown with Bobby Flay where he emerged the victor in a jerk cook off against the Food Network star and was featured on WCBS (NY) when he appeared on Tony's Table, WABC's (NY) Neighborhood Eats, WNBC’s (NY) The Today Show , Sirius’ Everyday Living with Martha Stewart and TVFN’s Chopped. He was also profiled by Irie TV for the program Irie Diaries for the Caribbean International Network (CIN). Chef Spence made his second appearance on the Food Network in less than a year. On May 25th, 2008 he was again pitted against celebrity chef Bobby Flay in a cooking rematch – Rematch on the Grill - filmed on location at the Biltmore in Florida. He was the only chef in that special who beat Bobby Flay a second time during competition. In addition, throughout summer and fall ’08, Chef Spence was featured on the award winning in-flight program Island Stylee on Jamaica’s national airline, Air Jamaica.

Following a successful lecture and demonstration on Caribbean cuisine at the Whole Foods Culinary Center in Manhattan, NY in January 2010, Nigel appeared for a return engagement on September 20, 2010. He was also chosen as one of the chefs featured in Bobby Flay’s new book which chronicles the best of his Throwdown with Bobby Flay series which was released later that month. Ripe Kitchen and Bar has also received positive reviews from - and been featured in - the following media outlets: The New York Times, The Journal News, Jamaican Eats, Jamaican Magazine, Jamaicans.com, Skywritings, The Westchester Magazine, Prevention Magazine, Cuisinenoir.com, Hudson Valley News, Jamrock Magazine, the Westchester Tribune and Caribbean Life. Nigel will also be featured in a story about Jamaican cuisine in Saveur magazine in November 2011.

Nigel also makes appearances at the request of the Jamaica Tourist Board as the country’s ad hoc Culinary Ambassador for North America.

Lukkee Chong, part of the team of producers of Island Stylee, Air Jamaica's inflight video, will be on hand for videotaping the 'Peek At Paradise' Travel Show event.

Special decorative touches reflective of Caribbean mystique will be added by ARTC Events for creating a unique atmosphere while Limbo Dancing will be offered as an added 'Caribbean flavor'. Additonally, there will be a fashion show presentation of Break Away Moments exclusive 'Forever Paradise' vacation, cruise and resort wear design line with exquisitely created featured items by Yola Gray of House of Flayva.
