Gunther International Announces Quarter End Financial Results

Aug. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Total sales for the quarter ended June 30, 2011, were $7.01 million, compared to total sales of $6.06 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2010.  The $950 thousand increase primarily resulted from an increase in sales of Systems of $1.22 million, partially offset by a decrease in Maintenance of $271 thousand.   Net loss was $337 thousand, or $0.02 per share, for the year compared to net income of $23 thousand, or $0.00 per share, reported last year.

Marc Perkins, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company stated, “Our results continue to be negatively impacted by ongoing, world-wide economic conditions, which have resulted in a reduction in spending on capital equipment such as our high-speed, intelligent mailing systems”.  At June 30, 2011 and August 12, 2011, the Company had a systems order backlog of $1.8 million, compared to a systems order backlog of $151 thousand at June 30, 2010.  The current backlog is higher than these periods in the prior year and the Company has ongoing negotiations that should result in additional orders.
