New Stockport Counselling Blog Launched

Aug. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Mary Dees of Imagine Counselling has launched a new blog http://www.counselling-journal.com .  Imagine Counselling is based in Mellor, Stockport and provides counselling and psychotherapy for individuals.  

Counselling Journal (http://www.counselling-journal.com) is a blog that is thought provoking and promotes transactional analysis counselling, psychotherapy but also the use of transactional analysis in education, business coaching and organisations.  The blog will be a place for the discussion of philosophy, ideas, theories and experience.

The blog is the thoughts of Mary Dees, she has been working with individuals, groups and organisations on collaboration, partnership working, decision making and problem solving for 20 years.  She was approved to practice counselling and psychotherapy in June 2011 and is currently in advanced psychotherapy training at Psyche Institute, ITA Registered Training Establishment, affiliated to UKCP.  

Mary says about Transactional Analysis: “Transactional Analysis is a social psychology that encompasses a wide range of theories and techniques that can be used by individuals, groups, organisations and partnerships to enable them to reach their full potential.”

“Transactional analysis is a powerful tool to bring about human well-being. In psychotherapy, transactional analysis utilises a contract for specific changes desired by the client and involves the "Adult" in both the client and the clinician to sort out behaviours, emotions and thoughts that prevent the development of full human potential. Transactional analysts intervene as they work with clients in a safe, protective, mutually respectful-OK/OK environment to eliminate dysfunctional behaviours and establish and reinforce positive relationship styles and healthy functioning.
