By: The Heritage The programme started with the lighting of lamp by the Chief Guest Swami Saumendranath Brahmachari along with the Guest of Honor, Dr. Zahid H Ganjee followed by all the senior officials of the institute. After lighting the lamp, there was a session related to sharing of experiences and guiding the new students by the Executive Director, Shri Probir Roy, CEO, Shri Pradip Agarwal, Academic Advisor, Clayton Moses, Principal , Dr. S.Biswas, Dean & Principal, Designate, Dr. Pranay Chaudhuri and HOD, Management Education Centre, Dr. Aloke Kumar Sen. After the introduction of all the senior officials of the institute, the session was handed over to Dr. Zahid H Ganjee, the Guest of Honor, who spoke about dreams and how dreams can motivate the present youth of India. He then made the session very humorous and directed everyone sitting in the auditorium to do an exercise of relaxation by closing the eyes and taking deep breath. After that, the session became much more interesting when Swami Saumendranath Brahmachari spoke about the motivating mantras for the new students who would be the future engineers of the nation. He also mentioned that every student should contribute something for the poor people making a concrete step towards nation building. After this, the opening ceremony of COMPASS 2011 concluded by the movie presentation of Kalyan Bharti Trust, their contribution towards the society by establishing the Heritage School, Heritage Institute of Technology, the Heritage Academy and Suryakiran. It was not the end of COMPASS 2011, as the opening ceremony was followed by 3 days rigorous activities to grill the new students as per the Heritage Experience. Lots of exciting dances and musical performances were displayed by the students along with football and basketball tournament.
