| Discover Adventure unveils trek to take in venues of Olympics 2012The leading specialist in trekking and cycling challenges worldwide for charitable fundraising, Discover Adventure, has launched a unique one-day, 26 mile London Stadia Trekathon that will pass many of the sporting venues set to host the 2012Olympics
By: Travel PR Led by highly experienced leaders, the group expedition sets off from Olympic Park in Stratford, East London, home to the Olympic Stadium and Olympic Village. Participants walk along the bustling streets of London’s northern suburbs and west through Regents Park, arriving at the iconic Lords Cricket Ground which will host the archery events. Meandering south, walkers enter Hyde Park, the setting of the triathlon and marathon swimming events. Continuing into Green Park, then along Constitution Hill to Buckingham Palace, the trek heads north-east along The Mall before reaching the beach volleyball venue - Horse Guards Parade Ground. This trek starts at Lanercost Priory, walking for 25 miles alongside the only remaining sections of the wall, admiring ancient monuments, rolling countryside and the skill of the Roman engineers who built this renowned landmark, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
