| 37 Presented with the Triple Crown Award by Toastmasters District 83Rochelle Joyner Earns 2010-2011 Triple Crown Award by Toastmasters District 83
By: Anna D Banks Thirty-seven (37) men and women were presented with the Triple Crown Award by Tom Somers, 2010-2011 District 83 Governor. This award, which is given to any member that achieves three or more goals in a single year, was presented at the recent 2011 Hail and Farewell awards ceremony. The event was held at the Ramada Conference Center, East Hanover NJ on July 23, 2011. The Triple Crown award is used to motivate people to set communication and leadership goals, and to work towards excellence in the Toastmasters program. The award, which has been in place for two years, has resulted in a marked increase in educational goals achieved by members. The 2010-2011 Triple Crown Awardees are: Avantsa, Surya V Blumetti, Dean Bragen, Thomas Buffalow, Janice L. Card, Arnold J. Chambers, Penelope Daye, Glendora M. Furlong, Thomas William Gelbinovich, Isaak Gilson, Anne Hernandez, Julian Joyner, Rochelle Juzva, Donna Kahn, Lucita D. Kenny, Thomas E Kirsch, Franca Klepach, Martin Thomas Lotts, Roxanne Maurizio, Joan Myers, Sabrina S. Okeson, Frances C. Oleniach, Keri A Pantano, Lisa M. Parikh, Nita Rao, Nelakanti Ridilla, Jennifer L. Salvarani, Amanda Anna Sanders, Ursula M. Scharf, Paul J. Scharf, Sandra Fay Shaeffers, Joe Ann Somers, Thomas M. Thompson, Kevin J. Weiss, Rachel Ann Wilson, Cyndi D. Rochelle Joyner, who already received her Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM) award stated, "No matter how long you have been a Toastmaster, you can still learn by working through the program", she said. Joyner, a project manager with the Port Authority of NY & NJ, currently serves as District 83 Conference Education Chair.
