Playa del Carmen Condo Market Benefits from Reforestation of 5,200 Hectares

July 28, 2011 - PRLog -- Many buyers of new Playa del Carmen condos in gated communities do so for the beautiful nature which surrounds and sometimes even defines the community in which they are buying. This feature of condos in Playa del Carmen is receiving a special support from a recent decision by the state government to reforest 5200 hectares of woodland in the state.

The decision came as a part of Mexico’s National Reforestation Day 2011 and reiterated its commitment to keeping the state green.  The state in which Playa del Carmen has the second most important forest area in Latin America, including some of the most biologically diverse ecosystems in the world. The program includes reforestation as well as modernization of agriculture and livestock, to produce more without harming the environment, said the state Governor Roberto Borge.

The first part of the program includes reforestation of 100 hectares of mahogany which will be planted as part of National Day Reforestation 2011.  The complete program will include 5,200 hectares which will receive 5 million trees.

While the reforestation program may not directly affect the areas around Playa del Carmen condos, the program offers two specific benefits for real estate buyers who are drawn for this reason.

One benefit is the idea that the move represents for the preservation of nature in the area.  While currently there is plenty of jungle and forest standing, it is important that there are also policies in place to keep things this way.  This way of thinking, and this way of making policies, will help keep jungle surrounding master developments in place complementing the substantial green areas in them.

The second major benefit is the question of activities.  Preserving the jungle of the state surrounding Playa del Carmen means that the many activities which require the jungle will continue to be regularly accessible.  These activities include fishing, natural sight-seeing ATVing, paintball, swimming in “cenotes” (natural, fresh-water pools) and much more.
