July 25, 2011 - PRLog -- MAINE, July 22, 2011 -- “...The Other Side of Life was extremely well edited, [and] the plot was more well written than some house published books I’ve read. . .[Jess is] obviously extremely talented.” --Review @ There's A Book

“I abandon all ‘insistencies’ I’ve ever had regarding formal poetry.”
-- editor of The Moose & Pussy literature & art magazine (review on Trouble)

”Dear Jess, I just wanted to say how much I’ve enjoyed your writing: your writing reflects something genuine, something real, about our generation that few writers have had the talent or the courage to uncover. Thank you.” -- e-mail from a male reader, 2010

JESS C SCOTT / jessINK: CHALLENGING THE STATUS QUO

Jess C Scott is a 24-year-old contemporary writer working in a diverse range of genres, such as erotic fiction, young adult fiction, urban fantasy, and cyberpunk.

As a creative professional, Jess experiments with a variety of genres and styles to produce original work which stands out from “the same old re-packaged mass-market pulp (Bibrary.com).” Her writing focuses on psychosexual themes (not porn) and love/emotions (not fluffy formulaic romance).

EyeLeash was her first novel, a realistic teenage sexting novel written entirely in a blog/IM format (an antithesis to the all-pervasive mass media’s portrayal of sex as a commodity). Jess has sold 10,000+ copies of her short stories, novellas, and novels (ranging from $0.99 to $9.99). Her literary work has appeared in a diverse range of publications such as Word Riot, ITCH Magazine, and The Battered Suitcase.

Originally from Singapore, Jess received her B.A. (concentration = English & Business) from Adams State College. She was a research assistant intern to the 2010 Jossey-Bass/Wiley publication, My Lie, written by bestselling author and award-winning journalist, Meredith Maran.

Some of Jess’s taboo-themed stories were banned by Amazon in December 2010, which prompted her to set up www.jessINK.com (her indie publishing platform/company).

Jess has always aligned her business goals with her personal values.

She continues to identify herself as an author/artist/non-conformist.
