Facebook will get left behind by Google

Google Plus will over take Facebook with the next year. This isn't a statement, but a proven fact. Facebook has spent too much time on top and it's time for a company like Google to come in and shake up the competition.

July 24, 2011 - PRLog -- Just a few short years ago internet users were flocking to a social networking website called "Friendster".  Friendster enjoyed a period of success, until the likes of Facebook and MySpace entered the scene.  In no time at all Friendster's userbase drastically declined and the new battle between Facebook / MySpace began.

MySpace and Facebook both succeeded at first as they each targeted different niche's of users.  MySpace attracted both Musicians and those not enrolled in a college or university, whereas Facebook only accepted registrations from legitimate educational institutions.  This worked for a while, and the competition was intense, that is until Facebook opened it's doors to anyone that wanted to join.  That was the death blow for MySpace.

MySpace had many internal issues with management that resulted in a lack of innovation and a major decline in it's userbase.  MySpace is currently seeing a drop of members (in the millions) per month, versus Facebook that experiences a growth of millions.

With Facebook on top, who could come in and take them on?  There is only one answer.  Google (Plus).

Google has launched it's own social networking website called "Google Plus" that is intended to take on Facebook, head to head.

Do you think Google has what it takes to defeat Facebook and take the reigns as the number one social networking website in the world?
