NEP Simplifies Railroad Equipment Manufacturers’ Supply Chain by Shortening Lead Times, Lowering Costs

RALEIGH, NC (July 12, 2011) — To further support its growing customer base in the railroad equipment industry, Norca Engineering Products, the leading manufacturer and supplier of high-quality steel and iron castings, forgings and assemblies for safety-critical and high-performance applications, has made substantial investments to its mainland China manufacturing operations.  NEP has increased its manufacturing capacity by up to 40%, enhanced its value-added sub-assembly capabilities, and expanded its long-term supply and warehousing programs to simplify railroad equipment manufacturers’ supply chain, shorten lead times and lower costs.

Investments to NEP’s infrastructure not only include building expansions, but also the purchase of CNC machine tools and material handling equipment in the machining facility to increase capability, capacity, product quality & repeatability. Investments in the steel foundry operations include process equipment, cleaning equipment, infrastructure support and advanced technology have also improved quality, efficiencies and capacity.
