The Gibraltar Summer Nights Programme 2011

July 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Leisure Events Gibraltar is proud to launch and present the official Casemate's Summer Nights programme of events 2011. For the first time since the commencement of this important event in social calendar, 2011 Summer Nights are organised.

Leisure Events Gibraltar is comprised by Christopher Yeats and Daniel Guerrero who are spearheading this year's summer nights. Both are part of the local entertainment industry and between them they have over 10 years experience. Chris is very much involved with events held in Ocean Village and at Savannah, and Daniel has been actively involved in the organisation of local music events and concerts throughout Gibraltar and Spain.

Daniel and I have been working very closely for the past few years in the local entertainment field organising events for the community at large to enjoy. We have decided to team up this year to produce a more dynamic and lively Summer Nights programme which we hope will be very much enjoyed by the whole of our community.

Our intention is to bring back the casemate's summer night's family spirit culture which was the original concept behind the summer nights. We strongly felt that a change was needed to bring back the Casemates Summer Nights culture once again and that is the main reason why we have wanted to organise this year's event.

In keeping with Government's traditional policy for summer nights, Tuesdays will be driven towards the younger members of our community and their families, so there will be plenty activities for the young ones to enjoy on stage and around the stage. Thursdays is aimed for the older generations of our community so there will be plenty of entertaining musical and dancing acts on stage for them to enjoy.

It is essential to keep the core acts of summer night local, as its gives a great opportunity for experienced and young upcoming local groups and individuals to showcase their talent in front of the whole community. Along with this we are also bringing international acts, so locals can experience a different variety of performances which they do not usually get the chance to see very often like other countries who stage large shows and concerts. In essence we are offering a balance of local and international acts to cater for all ages to enjoy.

Our main aim is to create an enjoyable experience for the local community where they can all meet and watch a wide variety of different shows which have never been seen before in Gibraltar. Summer nights are one of the highlights in the Gibraltar social calendar and we believe that an enjoyable and different program is long overdue.

What can people look forward to?

The public can look forward to the local favorite groups such as Jetstream, The Noize & the up and coming group Side Line Project Band. We will also have a local favorite Adrian Pizarello and the EC Band.Tribute acts are becoming ever more popular, with dedicated people making a living off imitating and sounding very much like famous acts and musicians, so we will be bringing as close to as it is possible without having the real thing, tributes acts such as Abba, Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga!

We are also offering professional dance performers from the worldwide brand FAME and the popular internationally known Batuka with Jessica Exposito who will be offering us her new choreography currently on tour.

Also for the kids to enjoy we are bringing back the karaoke and we will also offer a fair type of ambience with a few stalls offering activities and services for the kids. This will only be on Tuesday's.

As part of exciting programme of events and for the first time in the history of this important event in social calendar The Casemates Summer Nights 2011 Kids X Factor will also be produced. The competition will run on the evening of Tuesday 2nd August from 20.30 to 23.30 with winners being announced on the same night.

The closing date for applications is on Tuesday 26th July 2011 and unfortunately there will be limited spaces available due to the time constraints of the show itself.
