Owen Trinkler and RSR Motorsports Ready for Championship Run

July 20, 2011 - PRLog -- P1 Groupe driver Owen Trinkler and the RSR Motorsports team took last week to regroup and prepare for the next race on the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series schedule at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Trinkler and his team have thus far put together a championship caliber season, and they look to make a strong push towards those Team Championship goals in the final two races of the season. Unfortunately for the #198 RSR team their last race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca ended with a finish lower than they would have liked, but Trinkler has not lost faith in himself, co-driver Sarah Cattaneo or his team. He believes the best racing for the #198 Mini Cooper S is yet to come, and it all starts this Saturday in Millville, New Jersey.

“We won at New Jersey last year, and the team has stepped up significantly since then.  With the points being so close” Trinkler continues; “we have to push for wins in the last two events to have a chance at the championship, and with New Jersey and Mid-Ohio coming up we have a shot to finish strong.”

Entering the ninth race of the year Trinkler is currently in 8th in the Driver Championship Points Standings, while RSR Motorsports is currently 5th in the Team Championship Points Standings for the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series.

The GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series race from New Jersey Motorsports Park will be July 23rd and coverage will be aired on SPEED Channel on July 30th at 3pm. All Times Eastern.
