Laura Brunetti's Caring Canvas Project Had a Big Pow WOW for At-risk Youth

Kateri Camp in NJ had a special treat with Laura Brunetti and Home Training Group's A-team. It was a fun-filled day of art, fitness and cultural diversity!

July 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Wickatunk, NJ (July 12, 2011) - Kateri Camp, a summer program of Collier Services, presented to over 150 campers "The Caring Canvas Pow Wow" an artful afternoon of fun, fitness and creativity on Friday, July 8th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM sponsored and hosted by Laura Brunetti's Caring Canvas.

The fitness program for the day of Kickball games and Zumba was presented by Candice Belfer, owner of Home Training Group (www.hometraininggroup.com) and her fitness training professionals. Roger "Crazy Wolf" an Apache Native American was the event's special guest. Activities  included building life-size Tepee that children explored with tribal artifacts, music by artist ALESSANDRO, making musical shaker instruments, swimming, costume parade, dance party, fun fitness and a refreshing ice cream social. This day celebrated cultural diversity through art.

The Caring Canvas will be traveling to Asbury Park, Newark and Miami this summer for free camp activities for children. Dates will be announced soon.

Each summer, Kateri Day Camp provides over 200 economically at-risk children, ages 5 through 13, with a safe and wholesome summer camp experience. Their philosophy is one of respect for themselves, each other and the world around them. Through their annual Campership program, at-risk children have the opportunity to experience a fun and educational summer camp on our beautiful 260-acre campus. Activities include adventure hikes, nature games, frog-catching, sports, arts and crafts, special events, daily swim lessons as well as activities and lessons to improve reading skills. Our professional staff includes certified teachers, water safety instructors and social workers. Bus transportation, breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are all included. About Laura Brunetti:  Laura Brunetti is an artist, philanthropist and entrepreneur from a prominent family in real estate development and the horse racing world.
