Follow on Google News | State Farm Sends Denver Elementary Schoolers To Young AmeritowneState Farm has announced a one-year, $25,000 sponsorship to send six at-risk elementary school groups to Young AmeriTowne, the hands-on lesson in free enterprise created and hosted by Young Americans Center for Financial Education.
By: Katie Payer “For several years, State Farm has supported Young AmeriTowne,” “We are thrilled to once again partner with Young Americans to ensure that hundreds of at-risk youth are able to get the joy of the hands-on learning experience Young AmeriTowne provides,” said State Farm Agency Field Executive Denise Smith. State Farm’s sponsorship fully funds the participation of all students involved, including the workbooks, supplies, and experience at Young AmeriTowne. State Farm employees will also have the opportunity to volunteer with the students they are supporting. Volunteers will conduct the job interview in the classroom and also assist the students as they run Young AmeriTowne for a day. # # # Young Americans Center for Financial Education is a nonprofit organization committed to developing the financial literacy of young people, up to age 22, through real life experiences and hands-on programs. The Center fulfills its mission by offering programs that complement and reinforce each other to build life skills, work skills and financial self-sufficiency. These include Young AmeriTowne, International Towne, Get aHead for Business, Money Matters classes, summer camps, and more. In addition, Young Americans Center houses the only real bank in the world for young people, Young Americans Bank, which shares the same educational mission of teaching children to be financially responsible.
