Firearms Prop House Indie Arms Provides Authentic Weaponry for PRESIDENTIAL DILEMMA teaser trailer

In an action-adventure film, weapons make the story come alive. Steve Bernard of Indie Arms brings the weapons and the expertise.

July 6, 2011 - PRLog -- HOLLYWOOD—Producer Mark Ridley read the PRESIDENTIAL DILEMMA action-adventure script and knew that Producer-Director Lovelace Lee III was planning to shoot a teaser trailer. Lee told his producer that he wanted to shoot several of the most action-packed scenes. Puzzled, Ridley asked, “Lovelace, how are you planning to fake the weapons?” Lee smiled. He wasn’t planning to fake anything. Instead Lee called Steve “Doc” Bernard, Chief Armorer and Founder of Indie Arms. Bernard’s firm is quickly becoming recognized as Hollywood’s leading independent firearms prop house. One visit to the Indie Arms website at indiearms.com and you’ll become a believer, too.

“I read PRESIDENTIAL DILEMMA and suggested that Lovelace’s thugs be equipped with AK-47s,” Bernard said. According to the firearms expert the AK-47 is one of the most prevalent weapon in use all over the world. Bernard typically brings three times the weapons directors request. “Once a director sees what I have, they usually ask for more,” he added. Bernard is always prepared for the request. It’s what makes him the armorer you want for your shoot.

Veteran actor Ridley was immediately impressed with Bernard. “I’ve been acting 25 years and on hundreds of sets,” Ridley said. “Steve was the best prepared set armorer that I’ve ever seen.” Bernard begins his duties on set with a firearms briefing—for everyone. “I made the mistake of asking the actors to gather around,” Lee said. “I was politely corrected by Steve who stated that the safety briefing was for everyone in the production who worked in the proximity of the weapons. “That let me know how smart Steve really was,” Ridley added. It’s this attention-to-detail that Bernard uses to create a “Set Safe and Authentic” environment for film, TV, commercial and music video shoots. “It was very comforting to have Steve as part of my production,” Lee said.

Lee has shared production photos from the PRESIDENTIAL DILEMMA teaser trailer shoot on Facebook entertainment group pages Lights, Camera, Action and Get Connected. Everyday someone inboxes him and asks, “Who did your weapons?” Steve Bernard of Indie Arms can always be reached at (818) 579-6192.
