Hidden River Arts 2011 Fiction and Drama Competition deadlines June 30

Only a few days left to submit your fiction and play to the 2011 Hidden River Arts competitions. A $1, 000 prize, publication and public reading go to the winning manuscript in each category.

June 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Named after The Schuylkill River (Dutch for "Hidden River") which winds its way through Pennsylvania, Hidden River Arts searches for the "hidden" artist -- those creative people who may not  be found in MFA programs, or teaching on college campuses.  We search for the "outsider" artists who are creating great work while working outside the more traditional "arts" areas of endeavor.  We welcome writers and playwrights of all ages, occupations and writing styles.

We offer the William Van Wert Fiction Award to writers in English, for an published short story or a stand-alone novel excerpt of up to 25 pages.  We offer the Hidden River Arts Playwrighting award to an unproduced, unpublished full-length play.

All information, guidelines and application materials are to be found at our website, www.hiddenriverarts.com under "fiction and drama competition".

The deadline for submissions is fast approaching: June 30, 2011.  Please check out the website for further information about Hidden River Arts, its many programs and the details of this competition.
