Gavin Taylor Hair defies the recession by launching their hair care range onto the High Street

June 17, 2011 - PRLog -- A young Leicestershire businessman has bucked the trend in the recession-hit times by successfully launching a healthy, natural & organic hair care range.
Gavin Taylor, 33, from Anstey, produced the revolutionary product - which is chemical-free and eco-sustainable – at his home in Leicestershire.
According to a report published a couple of months ago, the market for natural (including organic) products grew by 20% last year in the US, while the industry average was a measly 4%.
The Quorn-raised hairdresser's range, called Gavin Taylor Hair, is already on sale in stores in Leicester and Loughborough.

Now the limited-edition hair products are in high demand as consumers take more notice of what their products are made of.
Gavin prides himself on producing shampoos and conditioners that contain no Sodium Lareth Sulfates (SLS) or Parabens.
SLS is a chemical foaming agent that is found in shampoos and starts its life as industrial de-greasant and garage floor cleaner.
It is used in many commercial products because it is cheap and produces lots of bubbles that cut through dirt and grease.
But according to a report from the American College of Toxicity, SLS has been shown to easily penetrate the skin.
Scientists found it caused irritation and inflammation to the skin's surface, as well as organs such as the heart, liver, lungs and brain.
Parabens are a chemical preservative and easily penetrate the skin.
EU scientists listed them as Category 1 priority substances - based on evidence that they interfere with hormone function.
They have also been detected in human breast cancer tissues - suggesting a possible association between parabens in cosmetics and cancer.
Through meticulous research, Gavin found that these chemicals actually cause dry, itchy scalps and greasy limp hair instead of curing it.

The range includes Lavender & Geranium which has an abundance of health benefits including enhanced blood circulation and anti-dandruff.
