June 15, 2011 - PRLog -- CHESTER, NJ-- With summer just around the corner, the Morris County Art Workshop (MCAW), the non-profit organization which brings after-school art, music, language arts, and cultural programs to youth and seniors to Chester, Mendham and surrounding areas, is proud to announce Summer Camp registration is open.

The MCAW Summer Camp starts June 27, 2011 and runs through the week of July 25, 2011 in Chester at the Bragg Intermediate School and in Mendham at the Mendham Township Elementary School. Camps range from half to full day and offer before and after care if necessary. A large variety of activities are available from the arts, music, non-competitive sports, fencing, Lego mania, and specialty classes such as photography, simple sewing, Rock Band and cool summer cooking to name a few.

“We created the MCAW Summer Camp programs to cater to parent’s busy schedules and children’s desires to do more than just stay inside and play video games all day,” explains MCAW Director Jane Shatz. “Our campers enjoy nurturing their talents, discovering hidden capabilities, exploring new skills, and participating in fun activities in a friendly, non-competitive environment. We have campers every year tell us they never knew they could dance, paint, take pictures or play in a Rock Band. It’s a wonderful experience and we look forward to another exciting summer.”

While every week offers art and music, special offerings for Week 1, which runs June 27, 2011 through June 30, 2011, include fencing, photography and video game design in Chester, and fencing, chess and world art in Mendham.

MCAW Summer Camp is open to children from Pre-K through 15 years of age. Offerings differ in the Chester and Mendham locations, and some include swimming and weekly field trips.  For additional information on the MCAW Summer Camp schedules, availability and to registration, please visit www.mcartsworkshop.com.
