Literacy, Asthma and Character Leader raises the bar on serving and empowering the community
 
June 15, 2011 - PRLog -- ATLANTA, GA –  Gearing up for a busy week of community based events around the country, The Chris Draft Family Foundation, led by its Founder, Chris Draft is inspiring and empowering families to live and embrace healthy lifestyles all over the nation.  >From leading a White House Let's Read Let's Move event with the Atlanta Children's Museum, to keynote speaker with the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America, to hosting as an Honorary Chair of the 2011 Real Men Cook in Atlanta, Chris Draft continues to makes a difference in the lives of others through service.

June 15 at 10:30 a.m., the Children's Museum of Atlanta welcomes Draft during their adventure camp in downtown Atlanta. During the museum's new exhibit "Team Up: Explore Science & Sports", Chris will read from his children's book "Do you want to play catch", encouraging the campers to read 30 minutes a day during the summer and then take all of energy to Centennial Park for some physical activity and football drills. As the Winning with Asthma Ambassador, Chris Draft will head to the city of Los Angeles, June 17, to deliver a keynote address during the 15th Anniversary Celebration of the Breathmobile, an "asthma clinic on wheels", that provides free asthma diagnosis, education, treatment and medications to children with asthma and allergies at the school site. The celebration is co-hosted by Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) California Chapter and LAC+USC Medical Center. Chris will join asthma leaders and celebrity athletes such as Olympic Gold Medalist, Tyree Washington, NBA Star and New Orleans Hornets Power Forward, Trevor Ariza, Actress, Ashley Scott and other Los Angeles City officials. The program begins at 1:00 p.m. at the LAC+USC Medical Center located at 1200 N. State Street in Los Angeles.

Ending the week honoring fathers, Chris will make his way back to Atlanta, Georgia to serve as Honorary Chair of the 22nd Annual Real Men Cook Charity event on June 19, celebrating Father's Day with good food, music, games and joining over 100 men cooking along with Congressman John Lewis and other Atlanta City Officials! As a Character Leader for the community, Draft will use this opportunity to reinforce the important role fathers play in the lives of their family and community. Chris will share his "recipe for a real man" which includes courage, compassion, honesty, perseverance, respect, responsibility and self-discipline during the event.  He will share these values with the fathers and their children as he takes time to read to them during the youth courtyard event.
