Comedy Benefit For GINA For Missing Persons

June 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Santa Clara, CA – The Comedy Lab, a bi-monthly experimental stand-up comedy show, will be benefiting GINA For Missing Persons Foundation on Saturday July 23rd at Mission City Coffee in Santa Clara.  Performing will be nationally touring comedians Phil Johnson and Jason Rogers, plus a special guest performance by magician Phil Ackerly.  $1 from every ticket sold for the event will be donated to GINA For Missing Persons.

Phil Johnson (http://www.RoadsideAttraction.com), who has appeared at the Sundance Film Festival and Scotland’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, uses comedy and music to dissect the constant struggle between defining ourselves as individuals and trying to fit in with “the group”.  Like everyone else, Phil sometimes gets it and sometimes wonders what the heck people are thinking.  On stage his playful humor and likeable, endearing manner allow his to shake things up without antagonizing the audience.

Jason Rogers's (http://www.StandupGuyProductions.com) humor is rooted in his unique childhood. Though born in Seoul, Korea, Jason was adopted by hippie parents at the age of five months and raised in New Boston, New Hampshire where he developed a distinctive perspective on life that he conveys through comedy. Jason has performed in some of the country's premier comedy clubs including Gotham and The Comedy Store.

GINA for Missing Persons FOUNDation’s (http://www.411gina.org)mission is to educate the public by utilizing entertainment to create awareness and media attention for missing persons world-wide, and to offer a source of information to help people whose family members become missing. GINA was created in honor of Gina Bos, who disappeared from Lincoln, NE in October of 2000 after a performance. Her case had no scandal or suspect; she simply vanished. With no media hook, it became her family's challenge to create ways to gain attention for her and the thousands of people that simply vanish each year.
