June 7, 2011 - PRLog -- MONTCLAIR, N.J. – POLLACK FINANCIAL GROUP announced today that founder and managing partner Scott Pollack has earned the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) professional designation from the Richard D. Irwin Graduate School of The American College, Bryn Mawr, Pa. The CAP curriculum addresses the advanced design, implementation and management of charitable gift techniques and strategies, as well as philanthropic tools including charitable trusts, private foundations, supporting organizations, donor-advised funds, pooled income funds, and charitable gift annuities. Only 26 professionals in the state of New Jersey have earned this elite designation.

As a CAP graduate, Pollack is uniquely qualified to help charitable organizations pursue long-term financial success. He reviews, assists, and makes recommendations integral to the organization’s planned giving strategies such as discussing planned giving options with potential donors and managing the investments.

He also helps individuals and families in the development and implementation of philanthropic programs that harmonize their charitable giving objectives with their estate planning and wealth management goals. “People are actively looking for vehicles to channel their resources toward the common good, whether it is to end world hunger or to build a charter school in their community,” said Pollack.

The Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy program has provided Pollack with the knowledge and tools needed to help donors invest in their communities through social entrepreneurship. “The CAP targets smarter, more productive gift plans,” explains Pollack. He coordinates all aspects of a gift, serving as a conduit between the donor and his or her technical planning team of attorneys, CPA’s, financial planners/wealth advisors, insurance agents, philanthropic advisors, development officers and planned giving officers.

Pollack notes that the CAP® designation is the perfect complement to his financial planning practice. “To me, it’s about helping people fulfill their dreams. The benefits of giving can be tangible,” said Pollack. “Leveraging your resources, experience and beliefs to make a difference while you are alive, that is when you have successful giving.”
