Nextpoint Announces Real-Time Deduplication in Preservation, Discovery and Trial Products

Now, “real-time” deduplication is built in—allowing users to eliminate duplicate data simply and easily via a user-friendly interface. This relates to a marked improvement in efficiency, reducing the time and cost of e-discovery.

The volume of data involved in the e-discovery process is imposing. Removing exact duplicates prior to relevance review is the most powerful and sensible way to eliminate obviously redundant data. Nextpoint’s automatic deduplication process is built into the platform’s data upload and processing work-flow, and reduces not only the overall data volume, but also ensures data is only to be reviewed once.

Through sophisticated comparative analysis, the Nextpoint application alerts users to potential duplicates and requires confirmation to upload duplicate files. Further, individual checks occur on files contained inside high-level containers to search for an exact match, and introduction of duplicate data is prevented. Metadata from a load file is taken into consideration for duplicate determination. The Nextpoint “batch details screen” has been enhanced to provide information on duplicates encountered during the upload and processing of data.
