Mr. Steam Links Steambaths with Smart Home Technology

This new, state-of-the-art automation system enables users to conveniently and remotely preheat a Mr. Steam steam shower using intelligent technology that easily connects to virtually any residential home-automation system.

The HomeWizard is energy-efficient and will automatically shut down the steam generator if usage does not begin within 10 minutes following activation.  According to Orellana, the wiring and programming tasks are quick and straightforward. The “plug-and-play-ready” accessory makes it easy for the installer to connect the single interface module cable to the steam generator and register the unit on the home automation system’s programming console.  

The HomeWizard comes standard with the Steam Genie™, a convenient handheld controller that activates a Mr. Steam steambath from almost any location within the home at the touch of a button. Similar to an automobile’s keyless-entry remote control, the wireless Steam Genie transceiver fob has a 100-foot range and features an integral LED light to indicate generator status and acknowledge commands.

Like the HomeWizard, the Steam Genie ensures accurate preheating and is compatible with any Mr. Steam residential steam generator (E-Series).  The waterproof Steam Genie transceiver fob may be used remotely or in the steam room to communicate with the generator.  All Mr. Steam generators are CULUS-Listed.

Available in April 2011, the HomeWizard lists for $500 and includes the Steam Genie fob (a $350 value) and home automation interface module.
