May 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Plantation, FL - Soren Technology, a market leader in ambulatory clinical systems, today announced that all practices have successfully upgraded to Version 2.0, the company’s meaningful use (MU) version, which, with electronic prescribing, integrated lab ordering and the Bio-Station Patient Portal, has received 2011/2012 ONC-ATCB Complete EHR certification by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT ®).

“We have been using Bio-Station since 2009,” said Dr. Shahnaz Fatteh, an Allergist and Immunologist in Pembroke Pines, FL. “Version 2.0 has been the most functionally improved and best delivered major upgrade we have received. We first selected Bio-Station “very easy EMR” because it is easy to get started, easy for staff and doctors to learn and easy to grow with.  This new release will help us gather required data to meet meaningful use, and we are excited about the new functionality that was offered at no extra charge with this release.”

When participating in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) EHR Incentive Program, providers are required to supply data that illustrates their meaningful usage of a certified EHR. Dedicated to assisting its customers through the attestation, Soren Technology has created Meaningful Use Stats (MUS), a very easy reporting feature that gathers all necessary usage statistics in one location for simple attestation.

On July 13, 2010, the U.S. Health and Human Services Department released the final rule on meaningful use of an EHR under the HITECH Act. Signed into law by President Obama on February 17, 2009, the HITECH Act authorizes the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide a reimbursement incentive for physician and hospital providers who demonstrate the meaningful use of an EHR.  Soren Technology, with its suite of “very easy EMR and PMS” products qualifies as a certified EHR vendor.
