Rene Collins re-releases CD "Aphromystic"

About 6 years ago, Rene Collins met bassist Booker King.  Together they decided to work on a Rene’s projects Aphromystic.  Booker just finished a gig with Lila Down and Rene has the opportunity grab him while she could.  Rene began to weave musicians into the mix that has synergies with both Booker and herself.  Musicians such as Tobias Ralph on drums, Daniel Sadwonick on percussion's, Monvelyno Alexis on guitar, John Deley on keys and Alen Grubner on fiddle.  Recording this CD together was an extraordinary experience -  playing live was the apex of the entire project.  

The lead single off this new CD “Aphromystic" is titled “Eye of A Mystic”.  It is your 3rd eye or your mystic seers – that extra sensory perception.  “The statement of the song is about the Consciousness of Mystics, Seers and Initiates and how we are able to see beneath the everyday movements of reality.  With this special perception seers are able to solve any and all problems facing humanity”, states Rene.  

Although this CD was released last October, 2010, it certainly deserves a second nod.  Its philosophy is inspired by African wisdom and spirituality being experienced through many aspects of every life.  “Eye of A Mystic” has a great acoustic introduction.  It is upbeat, inspirational with great rhythm.   It has a sense of authenticity – of raw sense of the natural form of things.   Sung with a crisp voice and that outstanding beat, the story is apparent and it captures your attention from the first note.  

Rene Collins is a story teller.  Through his music he voices his philosophies, his beliefs and his wisdom to all who dare to listen.  Be inspired by Rene Collins.

Rene Collins has played in Lincoln Park Tavern on April 8th, 2011 with a request to return.
