May 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Genes correspond to regions within DNA, a molecule composed of a chain of four diferent type of nucleotides. The squence of nucleotides in a gene is translated by cells to produce a chain of amino acids, creating proteins. In the proteins exist an order of amino acids corresponds to the order of nucleotides in the gene.

This relationship between nucleotide sequence and amino acid sequence is known as the genetic code. The amino acids in a protein determine how it folds into three demensional shape. This structure is responsible for the protein's function.

protein carry out almost all the functions needed for blood cells to live. A change in a gene can change a protein's amino acids. Changing its shape and function. This can have an effect in the blood cell and on the organisim as a whole.

Two other additional factors that can change the shape of protein are(pH and temperature). Although genetics play large role in the appearance and behavior of the body, it is the combination of genetics and with what the body experience that determine the ""ULTIMATE"" outcome. For example, while genes play a role in determining your body size, your food intake and the ""BODY CONDITIONING""also have a large effect.
