May 10, 2011 - PRLog -- On any given day you can hear the sounds of Darius Rucker on just about any radio station, from Blues, Pop, Rock, Top 40, to Country.  The 4th Annual CM Awards just received a letter of support from the iconic singer, who rocks the stage as lead vocalist with his bluesy voice and fellow band mates, Mark Bryan, bassist Dean Felber and drummer Jim "Soni" Sonefeld, as Hootie &the Blowfish while he sings a “little bit Country” headlining as himself, Darius Rucker.

Mr. Rucker has deep ties to the Carolinas, he was born and resides in Charleston, SC and has always played up and down the coast of North and South Carolina. He and his band members met while students at the University of South Carolina. He is the perfect artist to show his support to the show, as he began his career as a regional artist in the Carolinas.

“This letter of support is so important for the show. It helps put us on the map and shows yet another major celebrity supports us and is 100% behind us”, said Omar McCallop, CM Awards Founder. In addition to Darius, the CM Awards currently also has Randy Travis, Roberta Flack and Calvin Gilmore, Carolina Opry founder, onboard as show supporters. Other celebrity artists will be quick to follow.

“We have some great success stories, artists who would have never achieved the recognition or climbed up the career ladder, bringing their dreams to reality, if they hadn’t been involved in CM Awards show”, said Christi Chambers, CM Awards Artist Relations Manager.
