May 9, 2011 - PRLog -- Noted author Malachy McCourt will explore some of life’s toughest questions in a free lecture on Sunday, May 15, 2011, from 2:30 to 4:00 pm at the Maryknoll Mission Center in Ossining, New York, as part of the Maryknoll Speakers Series.

McCourt,a frequent guest on the talk show circuit including recent appearances with Conan O’Brien and on The Late, Late Show, will trace his personal quest through life’s highways and byways in search of truth, meaning and serenity.

“At this moment, I believe our purpose in life is to serve,’ McCourt said.  “We can do that simply with a cup of coffee, a kind word or by sharing a laugh and helping the sick get well.  And there’s nothing that compels us to act more than seeing God’s love in the face of a child.”

Laughs are inevitable in any encounter with Malachy McCourt.  Born in Brooklyn but raised in Ireland, McCourt’s has penned a number of award-winning books, including his New York Times best-selling memoir “A Monk Swimming."
