Cruise Ships Can Go Waterless On Water

It is installed in no-water systems in schools, army bases, office buildings, convention centers, and other facilities around the world.  

“We have been studying the needs of the cruise ship industry and port facilities for quite some time now,” says Klaus Reichardt, CEO and founder of Waterless.  

“It is an industry that is getting increasingly environmentally conscious, especially when it comes to water use and the reduction in effluent charges.”

Reichardt notes that many cruise lines have already incorporated a number of environmentally responsible practices that help reduce fuel, energy, and water needs.

“But cruise ships [still] consume huge amounts of water. Installing waterless urinal systems and similar fixtures reduces flushing water needs, reduce HT quantities, can lower fuel consumption and reduce effluent charges, and cut other costs.”

Reichardt adds his company plans to work directly with cruise ship companies to help determine “how much water can be saved [after installing waterless urinals] and how this can translate into fuel and cost savings for cruise line owners.”
