Treat Mom to a Mother’s Day Concert at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts!

Scottsdale Musical Arts presents a concert at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts featuring Scottsdale Choral Artists, Scottsdale Arts Orchestra, Scottsdale Youth Orchestra, Scottsdale Children’s Choir & Scottsdale Training Choir.
 
April 28, 2011 - PRLog -- Scottsdale Musical Arts presents a Mother’s Day Concert at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts where all of the non-profit organization’s groups will be on display; Scottsdale Choral Artists, Scottsdale Arts Orchestra, Scottsdale Youth Orchestra, Scottsdale Children’s Choir and Scottsdale Training Choir.

Scottsdale Musical Arts’ “Spring in the Southwest” concert has been selected as a “Scottsdale 60” event. As The City of Scottsdale is celebrating 60 years of incorporation in 2011, this concert is one of the events which will be held for 60 days beginning April 25 and culminating with a 60th birthday party on June 25.

Some of the proudest moms in attendance will be the mothers of the winners of Scottsdale Musical Arts’ Cantabile Young Singers Competition including those in each of 3 categories:
Primary: Henry Learner
Intermediate: Richard Pomraning
Senior: Cecilia Iole
Honorable Mention:  Brielle Grotenhuis

Overall winners Cecilia Iole and Richard Pomraning will be performing as soloists with piano accompaniment at this concert.

In addition to hearing these talented young people, other featured works include:
Ramirez, "Missa Criolla", The original and finest of the folk Masses featuring Argentine, Creole and Bolivian folk dance rhythms.

Rimksy-Korsakov’s "Capriccio Espagnol", a sparkling orchestral painting of Spain with passionate tunes and brilliant colors making it a smash-hit concert favorite.

Tunes from "The Wiz" from the adaption of "The Wizard of Oz" that tries to capture the essence of the African American experience.

A medley featuring music from “The Magnificent Seven”, “The Good, The Bad and the Ugly”, and “Hang ‘Em High”.

Patriot tunes to celebrate making music in the wonderful State of Arizona.
