Yorkshire Lawyer Speaking on Bribery Law at Major Asia Pacific Legal Forum

April 27, 2011 - PRLog -- David Williams, partner at law firm Walker Morris, will be presenting at one of the coveted speaking slots at the 5th In-House Counsel Forum in Shanghai, China – one of the Asia-Pacific region's major events of the legal calendar.
   
The event, which has attracted over 400 in-house Counsel from the Asia-Pacific region since it started in 2006, will provide advice on the latest laws and regulation and share best in-house management practice.

Other companies speaking at the event include: Google; Akzo Nobel; GM; Coca-Cola; and Cisco.

David Williams is a partner in the Commercial Dispute Resolution Group at Walker Morris and is an exceptionally well known and highly regarded litigator and with particular expertise across a wide range of commercial dispute and regulatory issues, including anti-bribery and corruption.  He will be speaking on the UK Bribery Act 2010.  The Act, which has received much attention in the UK media and the legal sector, comes into force on 1st July 2011.  The Act is one of the most radical and far-reaching pieces of UK legislation in modern times and it poses some very significant operational and management issues for organisations based or operating in the UK, causing many of them to fundamentally re-evaluate their methods of operation and their business model both in the UK and overseas.

David will also be speaking about the Bribery Act 2010 at a free joint seminar run by Walker Morris and Deloitte on Tuesday 10 May 2011 at Aspire, Leeds.
