April 26, 2011 - PRLog -- (Las Vegas-NV) - The fifth annual EQ® Cylinder Heads IMCA Modified Wild West Tour opened this past weekend at Aztec Speedway in Aztec, N.M. with driver Porter Smith coming away with a victory on Friday, April 22. Porter of Farmington, N.M., powered around pole sitter Brad Boyer for the front spot on the second lap and never looked back. The second race of the season opening doubleheader, scheduled for Saturday, April 23, was rained out before heats could get underway resulting in the first cancellation in the history of the series.

“We are proud to continue our support of IMCA racing and congratulate Porter Smith on his opening victory. We wish every driver in the series with success and safety during the 2011 season,” said David Wilson, EQ's national sales manager. “Drivers who race with our cylinder heads have shown great success in IMCA competitions, and we expect another great year of racing."

Zane DeVillbiss of Farmington, the 2010 tour champion, finished second, while Danny Bradford of Farmington finished third. Justin Yeager of Green River, Wyo., who uses EQ cylinder heads in competition, finished fourth. Yeager was runner-up to DeVillbiss in 2010 and was the 2009 series champion. Driver Aaron Spangler of Dove Creek, Colo., rounded out the top five.
