Networking is for Neanderthals® comes to Southwest Detroit

Like Neanderthals, we have a primal need to connect, interact and create social networks especially when US Bureau of Labor Statistics says Michigan has an 11% unemployment rate. That’s why Shawne Duperon holds "Networking is for Neanderthals®.”

April 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Neanderthals got a bum rap. They weren’t the ham-fisted cavemen dragging women often portrayed in cartoons. These primal beings made tools, protected territories, created social networks and are believed to have been adept at finding resources and cooperating strategically.
IRONICALLY, THEY’RE THE SAME SKILL SETS
EVERYONE CRAVES IN BUSINESS
Here are some facts:
-3 out of 4 adults struggle at some level with having to network in business
-40% of Americans consider themselves shy!
-Approximately 5.3 million Americans have social phobia.
Networking, social media & gossip expert Shawne Duperon says, just like Neanderthals, we all have a primal need to connect, interact and to create social networks especially when the US Bureau of Labor Statistics says Michigan has an 11% unemployment rate. That’s why she holds workshops all across the country called “Networking is for Neanderthals®.”
This innovative and experiential workshop has participants interact as they challenge and dismantle their current networking beliefs. By the end of the event, participants radically transform their belief systems around how they “should” be networking.  Their primal instincts kick in. The inevitable outcome is ease with people, more confidence connecting and a new sense of fun, play and adventure while networking - whether at a chamber event looking for new clients, posting on Facebook or using keywords for a job on LinkedIn or even being interviewed by CNN.
