Royal Emirates Group Buys Top Spanish Club Getafe CF Will be Titled as Team Dubai

April 23, 2011 - PRLog -- Royal Emirates Group, the dynamic conglomerate chaired by His Highness Sheikh Butti Bin Suhail Al Maktoum on Thursday April 21st, 2011 announced their purchase of first division Spanish football club Getafe CF SAD. The team Getafe is based just in the outskirts of Madrid and is considered a shooting star which has risen to the top within a short span of time. The team finished Number SIX  in La Liga 2009 – 2010 first division of Spain and is widely known for springing surprises with its outstanding football play.  

The Signature sign off was held at the world’s most luxurious hotel; Burj Al Arab.  Dr. Kaiser Rafiq - the Partner & Managing Director of Royal Emirates Group and D. Angel Torres Sanchez, President & owner of Getafe CF signed the purchase contract in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Butti Bin Suhail Al Maktoum , D. Vicente Lopez de la Calzada, Deputy Head of Mission of Embassy of Spain in UAE, and many icons of the business community and sports arena. The said deal was structured and concluded by Mr Peter Ostrovesky of Global Business Consultants after the initial introduction by Joan Batalla of batallajuanola.

Briefing the substantial Media turn out, Dr Kaiser Rafiq, informed that the Group has strongly patronized sports in UAE and abroad. The investment in Getafe CF is an evolution of this vision and an expression of renewed confidence that Dubai’s businesses are more confident today to make large investments abroad as well as at home. Caring for community needs through sport is at the heart of what the Royal Emirates Group aims to achieve. This will send the positive message to the world that Dubai Cares.  

Being conscious of the enthusiasm for football amongst the Arab youth, Dr Kaiser Rafiq confirmed that the Group had been searching for a suitable vehicle to optimize the sport fusion here in UAE and the entire Middle East - especially  with Qatar being a future host of the world cup. Royal Emirates Group plans to invest heavily in inducting new blood and promoting the team in the region with the aim to make Dubai a transcending sky bridge between Europe and the Middle East.

Post - Press Conference,  a symbolic “Kick Off Ceremony“ was held on the sky high helipad of Burj al Arab with the enthusiastic participation of Manu del Moral, Captain of the Getafe in the new Team Colors, against the backdrop of sunset across the Dubai Cityscape.
