By: City and County of Swansea That’s because the BBC Big Screen in Castle Square will show the royal wedding on Friday 29 April, giving those not invited a chance to celebrate this landmark occasion. Whilst people gather in St James’s Park, London, trying to see Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding procession, the Swansea public are guaranteed a great view at Castle Square. Extensive coverage of the event will begin at 8am and continue until 4.30pm covering the wedding service at 11am, the royal carriage leaving at 12:15pm and the fly past at 1.30pm. Frances Jenkins, Strategic manager for Tourism, Marketing and Events said “The BBC Big Screen has been very popular and has attracted large crowds to the city centre for a number of major events. “We are pleased that the royal wedding will be shown live in Castle Square. People are invited to come along and bring a picnic to enjoy the royal nuptials. All that we would ask is that people do not bring glass receptacles into the Square and that they dispose of their litter responsibly” Bunting will be put up in the square and there will be some free seating provided.
