Renowned artist-photographer, Poané, will photograph the honorees and document the festivities.

Each year the Community Service Awards dinner proceeds benefit a selected charity. Proceeds from the 2011 Awards dinner benefit Emory University's Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC). This year’s honorees are: • Ann Boriskie for creating, developing and implementing the Brain Injury Peer Visitor Program - http://www.braininjurypeervisitor.org/ • Deidri Cumbie for providing leadership and support at Vision Rehabilitation Services of Georgia and serving as a volunteer to other non-profit and United Way agencies. http://www.vrsga.org/ • Horace Dukes for founding Dukes Foundation, an organization mentoring at-risk boys and young men. http://www.dukesfoundation.org/ • Gayle Gellerstedt for service to Our House, Inc. and for over 30 years of volunteer activity in the Atlanta community providing a voice in the community for those who do not have a voice of their own, particularly young children. http://www.ourhousega.org/ • Ho Su Kim for his volunteer work at The Center for Pan Asian Community Service, Inc., where he founded the Food Pantry program providing food assistance to families and seniors in need. http://www.icpacs.org/ • Virginia Pearson for co-founding Operation Sandbox, a care package program, sending gifts to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. http://www.operationsandboxga.com/ • Kevin Rathbun for his contributions to Open Hand, providing his talent, food, time, and staff in support of the organization's continued growth and success serving the community. http://www.projectopenhand.org/ • Jeanne Spears for service with the Red Cross, volunteering, mentoring and recruiting nurse volunteers as well as serving as a Red Cross National Liason to the CDC. http://www.georgiaredcross.org • Bert Weiss for founding Bert's Big Adventure, providing children with a chronic or terminal illness the opportunity to experience a weekend with their families at Disney World. http://www.bertsbigadventure.org/ • Lisa Williams for founding Living Water for Girls, a residential therapeutic refuge for young girls who have been brutalized by commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking. http://www.livingwaterforgirls.org/ This year’s coveted Boisfeuillet Jones Award will be awarded to Ted Turner for his unprecedented global philanthropic work and significant contributions to the local and worldwide business communities. Turner founded the Turner Foundation, Captain Planet Foundation and Turner Endangered Species Fund to protect our planet and its inhabitants; 11Alive News Anchors Brenda Wood and Ted Hall will host the prime time videotaping which will air on WXIA-TV, 11Alive and WATL-TV, myAtlTV.
