The publisher is a member of Independent Book Publishers of America (IBPA), and will be showing their books at one of the IBPA booths. BEA is the leading book publishing event in North America.

The following Sunbury Press books were selected:

"Prohibition's Prince: The Bizarre Life of America's Millionaire Moonshiner" by Guy Graybill - Author and historian Guy Graybill presents the entertaining tale of one of America's most prolific moonshiners and bootleggers, Prince David Farrington, who plied his trade through the early to mid 20th century. Graybill follows Farrington from his roots in Guilford County, North Carolina to Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, detailing the decades of illicit activity along the way. Farrington amassed a large fortune. His exploits remain legendary to this day. Relive the rollicking life of Prohibition's Prince, as Graybill presents numerous tales, legends, testimonials, news accounts, and still locations. This volume includes 44 pages of vintage photographs and is indexed.  ISBN 978-1934597200  $19.95

"Fireproof Moth: A Missionary In Taiwan's White Terror" by Milo Thornberry - "Fireproof Moth" is a mystery worthy of fiction. That the memoir is true makes it hard to put down or to forget. When convinced that the secret police were going to arrange an "accident" to kill his friend, the missionary decided he had no choice but to help well known human rights leader Peng Ming-min escape from Taiwan. So successful was the getaway that when President Richard Nixon and Chinese Premier Chou En-lai met in Beijing two years later and wanted to know how Peng got out, neither of their vast intelligence systems could tell them. Even Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, who presided over Taiwan's Stalinist-style police state, went to his grave without knowing that a group of non-government novices managed to get Peng out undetected.  ISBN 978-1934597323  $14.95

"Death & Taxes: Riots, Rebellions, Revolts and Unjust Taxation Through History" by Daniel Diehl and Mark P Donnelly - This is a book about tax revolts and revolting taxes! Throughout history, people have grumbled about unfair taxes. In some instances, however, the populace has risen up, in greater or lesser numbers, and forcefully expressed their displeasure over their government's insistence on separating them from their hard earned cash. The stories in this book range from tragic to laughable and from Ancient Rome to Modern Day, but all of them shine an unmercifully harsh and penetrating light on that most reviled, and often corrupt, institution in human history... taxation. ISBN 978-1934597286  $16.95

"Beagle Tales" by Bob Ford - Witty wisdom gleaned from many early mornings with gun in hand, dogs at his side, quietly and contemplatively awaiting his quarry... This book appeals to rabbit hunters, beagle-lovers and the faith community. Bob Ford is United Methodist pastor, hunter and dog owner with a sense of humor and "non-preachy" approach to his beliefs. ISBN  978-1934597361  $14.95

"The Cursed Man" by Keith Rommel - The Cursed Man by Keith Rommel tells the story of Alister Kunkle, a patient at Sunnyside Capable Care Mental Institution. Alister has been in seclusion for the last 25 years having no contact with the staff or the outside world. The reason for this is that anyone who communicates with Alister dies within the day, for he is the Cursed Man and Death takes a professional interest in those unlucky enough to cross his path. Believing him simply deranged, Dr Anna Lee, an up and coming young psychiatrist, has come to cure Alister. She is warned about Alister's past and is shown evidence of previous encounters made by the skeptical or unbelieving, all of whom died, sometimes horribly. Regardless of the stories Anna will not be dissuaded and is reluctantly allowed access to Alister. All assume her fate is sealed but when she returns unharmed the next day we also start to wonder about the stories. So begins an enthralling narrative told in the past and the present as Anna attempts to learn why Alister believes he is cursed, while at the same time trying to convince him the events were not real and that in fact he is merely ill and so can be cured. Is Alister truly followed by death or is he simply mentally ill?
ISBN 978-1934597033   $14.95

"Yes I Smelled It To: Cartoons for the Somewhat Off-center" by Thomas M Malafarina - If you ever wondered what would happen if an author of graphically violent horror stories also drew cartoons? Not that many people would have this particular wonder, but if you ever did then you are about to have your curiosity satisfied. Thomas M. Malafarina, author of horror also enjoys creating single panel cartoons of a strange and bizarre nature, not for the typical daily newspaper cartoon reader but for those with a special, more discerning and macabre sense of humor. Annually he creates his own Christmas Holiday cards, which he sends to a select few of his closest friends. Most of whom wait with anticipation, wondering just how far he will push the envelope of less than good taste each year. "Yes I Smelled It Too" is a collection of some of Thomas's favorite cartoons that he has drawn though the years. Some are strange, some are violent, some are ironic and some are just plain bizarre, but some of them will have you rolling on the floor with laughter. Who says horror can't be funny? (Well I guess just about everyone. Oh well.) So if after reading one of Thomas's horror stories, you find yourself in need of a little comic relief. Just pick up your copy of "Yes I Smelled It Too" and laugh your guts out; figuratively but not literally,  ISBN 978-1934597057  $19.95
