April 15, 2011 - PRLog -- Westchester County, New York – If you walk into the Vermont Good Wood’s distribution center the first thing you notice is the hustle and bustle of the entire staff.  There are huge signs designating where all their products are shipped to and trucks being loaded for another busy delivery day.  These huge bins are labeled with areas of Connecticut and New York.  You will see signs saying Firewood Stamford, Firewood Greenwich and Firewood Fairfield County all of which will be delivered in the next few days.  All these activities support the owner of Vermont Good Wood in his efforts to give back to the community and help at-risk teens. The cause is called “Wood for a Common Good” and supports many of his efforts to develop FUTURE 5, an innovative urban teen program.

Speaking with the owner of Vermont Good Wood, he said “Our Company helps to support my involvement in the creation and expansion of a not-for-profit called FUTURE 5. FUTURE 5 helps low income and at-risk teens connect to brighter education and job futures. The whole idea is to give teens the opportunity to become positive and productive members of their communities and to promote a culture of success that is so needed. We help these teens connect to both job and educational opportunities that would otherwise not be very accessible to them. It’s a labor of love and Vermont Good Wood allows me to pursue this .”

Vermont Good Wood delivers kiln dried firewood to cities in Connecticut and numerous communities in New York.  The owner had come to enjoy a good long burning fire and developed a wood for that specific purpose.  The wood is virtually bug-free so it is safe for storage inside.  When requested; the company delivers a stacking rack to keep the wood in a tidy stack. The owner explained, because of the company’s success he feels he can reinvest in the community. “Helping high school students connect to the world and their futures is what it is all about. You can feel good about burning Vermont Good Wood.”There was a higher demand for kiln dried firewood in the New York Metro market this past winter due to rising fossil fuel costs. It’s coming from the homeowners who already know about the benefits of burning wood instead of fossil fuels. According to in-house statistics at Vermont Good Wood, many newer homeowners also chose to give wood a try. With oil, natural gas, and electricity going steadily up in price, next year looks to be just as busy, so the company is recommending that you place your order as early as possible.

Vermont Good Wood has home delivery service so customers won’t have to worry about getting their wood from one place to another.  Their website will walk you through building the perfect fire for relaxation.  For more information on Vermont Good Wood or their contribution to Future 5 you can visit their website or contact them by phone.
