Driver Arrested in West Palm Beach Crash

April 11, 2011 - PRLog -- A driver has been arrested in a fatal crash that occurred in West Palm Beach, Florida on Monday, April 11, 2011. The driver was from North Carolina. The accident happened early Monday, around 6am. One man was killed, and two passengers were injured. The accident happened in a suburban area of West Palm Beach, specifically at the intersection of Westgate Avenue and Military Trail.
The man who caused the accident was 27-years-old. He had been driving south on Military Trail at the time of the accident. He was driving a 2002 Ford Mustang Convertible. At the intersection, the driver allegedly ran through the red light and hit a 1999 Mitsubishi Sedan.
The Mitsubishi had been heading West on Westgate Avenue. The crash tragically killed a 39-year-old male inside the Mitsubishi. A 21-year-old passenger inside the Mitsubishi was also injured. The 21-year-old was taken in critical condition to St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach. The passenger in the 2002 Mustang was also injured. That passenger was taken to the hospital as well with serious injuries.
The man who had caused the accident only sustained minor injuries. He was treated at the scene and then subsequently arrested for driving without a license causing death and injury. The man might be charged with additional crimes should drug and alcohol tests performed come back positive.
